Hello, friends. It's been a while.
This will be a short blog post for now. Just enough to let you know I'm alive. Last I checked in, I mentioned I was planning on 'hiking' the AT. Not a through-hike per se, but a wander. An exploration, now having met one other hiker on the trail who used this term to describe her experience. I'm coopting it. We were exploring the AT.
Unfortunately that trip was interrupted and came to an early end; fortunately it was because I landed a really good, really secure job. Life takes you in unexpected locations. So, the last few months have not been occupied with as *much* woodsy wandering as I hoped, but we did get a lot. The rest of it was occupied by a move, and a new job, and a new orientation to my life. I picked up a lot of good habits on the trail and leading up to the trail I want to maintain. Figuring out how all my interests piece together was the follow-up. I still want to have room in my life for this blog. In a twist of fate, the basic HTML and CSS knowledge this blog has taught me has actually become an essential component of my job. Trying new things! It's good for you! You never know where it will take you!
I am going to reorganize my 'Original Fiction' into 'Original Work' so I can add some of the poetry I wrote on the trail to the site. I'm quite proud of some of the pieces that shook out. It also gave me the boost of wanting to add some old poetry to the site that I've been sitting on. Yes I am truly realizing my dream of being a 'net user circa 2001 or so. Now I'm posting my angsty poetry on geo(neo)cities. LMAO.
I'll leave it at that for now. I have a few more blogs planned, and now that I'm not drowning in trying to graduate, hopefully I'll have time to post again. Maybe I'll *finally* write my Haunting of Hill House piece now that October approaches (mua ha). I also have some css experiments planned as well. We'll see. I'm easing back into it. I like my space on the net, and I like some of the other habits I've built. I'm in the process of balancing the scale, as it were. Slow and steady.
XOXO, Storm
