A Sonnet to Cancelled Plans

April 16th, 2026

Lo: sometimes we get overwhelemed within
Our own heads, planning for what's yet to come.
And sometimes she won't let you have your in,
Thus, plans are cancelled, life continues on.

The weather rains out our picnic, oh no!
And traffic's awful; the festival's wet!
The earth won't ever be predicted so
For your plans are subject to change yet.

Whatever we control is lost to cruel
Fate's hand...but I'm fine with playing the fool.
